Hi

My brother has twins who suffer from Dyspraxia. They are currently having swimming lessons at the local pool (they are age eight) and are finding it very difficult to co-ordinate their movements.

What are your thoughts on Fish oils which I see mentioned regularly in the Press. I have also read the book by Dr Alex Richardson where she states that EPA (and DHA?) are helpful for Dyspraxia.

I would appreciate some help in what to suggest to my brother who is getting quite frustrated.

Thanks

Walker,
Dr Richardson is a world expert on omegas and I know her and her work very well. The study she conducted into dyspraxia did infact not show a positive result but I agree that it is likely that this study was just not sensitive enough to detect this.
I would advise two morEPA minis daily for each of the twins and reassess the results in a couple of months. If there is no detectable improvement it may be that the dose is hopelessly inadequate and if they will allow a blood test to be taken, the omega blood test will allow the correct dose of omega 3 supplementation to be given.

Hi Walker

Im an ASA swimming teacher and we had a parent bring 8yr old triplets to lessons and each suffered with Dyspraxia. Their co-ordination was difficult to control in complex strokes like Breast Stroke, but their mother coninued to bring them and also came in the water to help.
They then took MorEPA-Mini. I think they started with 4 a day and the results we far better. They soon achieved their 5 metre badge and I lost touch with them after that. I do know that they were featured in the local newspaper and the hospital where they went for check-ups asked for details of the fish oils for other children.

Hope this helps

Paul
